Sun Baked Hills

Sun Baked Hills - watercolor

PRAIRIE SUN

On the windblown prairie
Parched and dry
You can see forever
To where land touches sky
The sun beats down
Day after day
Coloring the land a golden brown
Taking the green
From meadows of hay
They’ll green again
On a cloudy day
But the sun beats down
Day after day
Drying the land
To hardened clay
And the sun beats down
Day after day
A rich golden brown
The prairie will stay
